: As part of the October 1, 1996 mandate, VAMCs must collect provider information. The provider information reported is the &amp;quot;Person Class&amp;quot; defined for all providers associated with ambulatory care delivery. All VAMC providers must be assigned a Profession/ Occupation code (Person Class) so that a Person Class can be associated with each ambulatory patient encounter.&lt;br /&gt;
