The '''RPCVersion''' design-time property is a published string type property used to pass the version of the [[RPC_HELP_RPCs|RPC]]. This can be useful for backward compatibility.

As you introduce new functionality into an existing [[RPC_HELP_RPCs|RPC]], your RPC can branch into different parts of the code based on the value of the RPCVersion property. The Broker sets the XWBAPVER variable on the VistA M Server to the contents of the RPCVersion property. This property cannot be empty and defaults to "0" (zero).

You may wish to use the application version number in the RPCVersion property. See [[RPC_HELP_App_Issues|Application Issues]] for a suggested method for constructing version numbers.
