This is a term that was used when Digital Standard Mumps (DSM) was the major mumps system used and is a way to determine the namespace and instance name that is in use for this installation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To determine it:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Reading the results:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You should see a line that looks like the following:&lt;br /&gt;
VISTA^VISTA^WIN^VISTA:CACHE&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This line contains several pieces of information and is interpreted as follows&lt;br /&gt;
Each piece of information is separated by a ^, so there are four (4) pieces of information in the above line&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
    Piece 1:  VISTA = UCI/Namespace&lt;br /&gt;
    Piece 2:  VISTA = VOL(UME)&lt;br /&gt;
    Piece 3:  WIN = NODE (HOSTNAME)&lt;br /&gt;
    Piece 4:  VISTA:CACHE = BOX:VOLUME&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
NOTE:  Notice that the volume is in the wrong place when comparing their places in the BOX:VOLUME pair.  The output from the above command is correct.  This is due to historical purposes.&lt;br /&gt;
