Major Section
Refers to the grouping of lab sub-sections into major groups within the lab. A lab may consist of the following major sections: General Clinical (may include hematology, toxicology, serology, chemistry, etc.), Blood Bank, Microbiology, and Anatomic Pathology. If your lab uses this system, your workload report will be reported by major section (“Section Workload Report”).
