My name is Steve Watson. I'm a Family Practice physician, member of WorldVistA since June 2007, and interested in installing and maintaining VistA in Family Physician offices. To that end I had a small medical practice of my own -- a "practice practice" if you will -- in order to debug the VistA installation. It failed expensively - VistA configuration was far more complex than I realized.
Now I have a small part-time telemedicine practice that keeps my medical skills reasonably fresh, and since March 2015 I've worked with Medical Matters in West Virginia. We're installing VistA in a group of small but busy primary care offices in the mountain coal mine towns.
I believe and hope that by encouraging the use of VistA I can be as useful to the planet as I was when I was simply practicing medicine. My focus is on getting Integrated Billing to work in small offices, since for them, billing is lifeblood. Once again, I didn't know what I didn't know - but this time I have a lot of help.
- I work with Calvin and Butch.
