DSS is a company that has provided software modules for the VA's VistA system. It has also developed an open-source version of VistA called vxVistA.
vxVistA, like the VA's VistA system, uses the proprietary Cache version of the MUMPS database, which must be licensed (for a fee) separately. The co-ordinated vxVistA stack is therefore not available as a completely open source product.
