- Stop Code
- A number (i.e., a subject area indicator) assigned to the various clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic sections of a facility for reporting purposes. For example, all outpatient services within a given area (e.g., Infectious Disease, Neurology, and Mental Hygiene—Group) would be reported to the same clinic Stop Code.

- Stop Code
- A three-digit number corresponding to an additional service a patient received in conjunction with a clinic visit. Stop Code entries are used so that medical facilities may receive credit for the services rendered during a patient visit.

- Stop Code
- A three-digit number corresponding to an additional stop/service a patient received in conjunction with a clinic visit. Stop Code entries are used so that medical facilities may receive credit for the services rendered during a patient visit. After 10/1/96, Stop Codes will become DSS Identifiers.
